Jerome Freemont was the commanding officer of Freemont's Cuirassiers as of 3029.[1]

During the Fourth Succession War, Freemont's Cuirassiers were nearly destroyed by the Federated Suns' push into the Capellan Confederation. By January 3029, Captain Freemont and the final fifteen surviving members of the Cuirassiers were dispatched to raid the world of Halloran V as part of the Confederation's Operation Riposte. Eager to to get revenge for the damage done to his unit and nation, Freemont ordered the Cuirassiers' BattleMechs to be painted blood red and to have the regimental insignia made twice as large and placed on both the front and back of their machines. On 13 January, the Cuirassiers made planetfall just south of Halloran V's largest city and began pushing towards what they assumed were FedSuns warehouses. Freemont's scout lance ran into an entire company of the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs and were forced to chart a different route for the unit in order to avoid their numerically-superior opponents. An hour after making this change, Freemont encountered the Chasseurs' First Battalion while simultaneously coming under attack from the Chasseurs' aerospace fighters.[1]
Rather than retreating back to his DropShips, Freemont ordered his men to attack and the Capellan soldiers made surprising headway against the Chasseurs with the aid of the local terrain. The Chasseurs fell back in the face of Freemont's assault but were soon reinforced by the Second Screaming Eagles, who were just as eager to rebuild their reputation as Freemont was to destroy his FedSuns opponents. Freemont's Cuirassiers fought valorously but soon enough all fifteen members of the unit were killed or captured, with Freemont himself falling after being engaged by two FedSuns 'Mechs simultaneously.[1]
