Fengo Olesko was a MechWarrior with the Fifth Amphigean Light Assault Group and later the Second Legion of Vega during the War of 3039.[1][2][3][4]

War of 3039[edit]
During the War of 3039, the Federated Commonwealth dispatched two task forces to take the planet of Vega from the Draconis Combine. As part of the defending garrison, the Fifth Amphigean Light Assault Group faced off against Task Force Blizzard—comprised of the Grave Walkers, Seventeenth Recon Regiment, and Snord's Irregulars mercenary groups—but were quickly pushed out of the city of Nasew with all subsequent counter-strikes failing to gain ground. Only Chu-sa Olesko's Third Battalion gave the mercenaries pause and Snord's Irregulars were tasked with hunting them down. On 30 April, the Irregulars and Olesko's battalion met in battle near New Egypt but the Irregulars' erratic tactics combined with the mercenaries' heavy use of artillery prevented the Fifth LAG soldiers from mounting an effective defense. After only forty minutes of fighting, the Third Battalion was routed and Olseko herself was evacuated, unconscious, in a med-evac helicopter after having challenged Colonel Rhonda Snord to a personal duel.[3][2][5]
Olesko would return to Vega in late July, newly promoted to Tai-sa and commanding the Second Battalion of the Second Legion of Vega. Having survived her first brush with Snord's Irregulars, Olesko had sworn to get her revenge on the mercenaries and lead her unit into combat against them on 28 July. Although Olesko's troops held the numerical advantage, interference from the Irregulars' aerospace lance enabled Rhonda Snord to punch through Olesko's lines and escape. In the end, the battle in the Carrier Highlands caused both significant damage to the Irregulars—damage that would lead to their withdrawal from Vega—and the death of veteran Irregular Solomon Storm, but Olesko's dreams of revenge would go unfulfilled.[1]
Olesko would later state that she considered it an honor to fight against the Irregualrs but that she did not approve of Rhonda's tactic of constantly broadcasting loud music over communication channels.[6]
BattleMech[edit]
Fengo Olesko piloted a custom WHM-6K Warhammer and later an AS7-D Atlas during the Battle of Vega.[7]
Behind the Scenes[edit]
In contrast to all canonical sources, Fengo Olesko is portrayed as a male character in MechWarrior 5: The Dragon's Gambit, who was voiced by Dustin Gilli.[8]
