Alan Hawker was a Bloodnamed warrior and saKhan of Clan Diamond Shark as of 3072.[3]

History[edit]

As a younger warrior, Alan had a reputation for being one of Clan Diamond Shark's most reckless members and his aggression and short temper, while a boon against his enemies, prevented him from making any career advances. Shortly after defeating Clan Goliath Scorpion in a Trial of Possession on Strana Mechty, Alan entered a Grand Melee for the right to win a Hawker Bloodname. During this contest, Alan's anger came within a hair's breadth of costing him victory and the newly-Bloodnamed officer began making a concerted effort to control his infamous temper as a result. These efforts ultimately paid off and Alan's newfound reputation for being both dependable and capable soon earned him the rank of Star Colonel and the position of aide to Khan Barbara Sennet and executive officer of Alpha Galaxy by 3067.[3][1]

Alan served under Khan Sennet for several years and, while learning the finer points of command, earned the respect of many of the clan's warriors and merchants. Still, Alan's famous temper continued to factor into his dealings with Clan Wolf as he held a sizable grudge against them for their taking of Ian Hawker's genetic legacy. While the exact date Alan replaced Angus Labov as saKhan was not known outside of the Sharks' leadership, it was believed that he gained the post at sometime in early 3072. Alan continued to prove himself as a talented warrior as saKhan but lacked the same economic skills as his predecessor.[3]

Following the Jihad, Alan continued to hold the position of saKhan under Naomi Nagasawa and commanded the Shark's Beta Galaxy in a split deployment to Tukayyid and Nykvarn by 3085.[2]
